UEH Strives to Build a Technology-Art Ecosystem Toward Sustainable Values

06 Feb, 2026

Recognizing the increasingly important role of arts in modern higher education, the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) remains committed to building an ecosystem where learning and creativity go hand in hand, aiming to cultivate a happy university environment. Within this orientation, art is not merely a source of inspiration but is also regarded as an educational methodology and a space for dialogue, contributing to nurturing the values of truth, goodness, and beauty alongside a spirit of sustainable development.

ArtTech Fusion 2025 in the Effort to Become a Destination for the International Art-Technology Community

ArtTech Fusion 2025 (ATF25) continues to serve as a convergence point for academic activities, creative endeavors, exhibitions, performances, and international community connections at UEH, contributing to shaping the University's technology-art identity. Under the theme "Co-creation for a Wondrous Future," ATF25 comprised a series of 34 academic and practical activities, bringing together 30 professors from 20 countries and attracting over 4,500 participants.

Emerging technologies such as AR/VR, interactive design, digital visual art, hologram, and art robots were placed in relationship with culture, ethics, and humanity, creating multisensory experiences through 13 thematic exhibitions. Notably, the Interactive Design exhibition space featured two themes – "Color of Culture" and "Echo of Peace" – academic products created by students from the UEH School of Media Design, opening a journey of discovering identity, memory, and language through visual and auditory perception.

Concurrently, ATF25 spread the spirit of cross-cultural exchange by introducing numerous works from students and international partners (Italy, Macau, China, Malaysia, South Korea, Thailand, and others). A special highlight was the performance night "The Harmony of Heritage," guiding audiences through a journey of identity discovery for young people, where traditional Vietnamese values intersected with the cultural essence of the world through contemporary creative language.

From the Classroom to Art Exhibition Spaces

The technology-art flow at UEH originates from academic spaces themselves, where art is approached as a learning and thinking methodology that helps learners observe, critically reflect, and connect with contemporary life. In course/project exhibition spaces, students not only present finished works but also showcase their entire creative journey – from observation and analysis of cultural meanings to transforming personal experiences into artistic forms.

Building on this foundation, a series of thematic workshops were implemented, serving as "bridges" between theory and practice. The workshop "Composition and Space" with Professor Xavier Pick (Arts University Bournemouth) helped students develop visual thinking and image language. The workshop "Introduction and Hands-on Experience with AI Art" expanded access to artificial intelligence art in a mindful and responsible manner, viewing AI as a tool supporting creativity that works alongside human emotion, ethics, and thinking.

The Creative Ecosystem within the Mediaverse 2025 Storytelling Universe

The creative ecosystem continues to expand through Mediaverse 2025 with activities, workshop series, and competitions such as Becoming AAA Artist, Draw Your Favorite 2D Character, along with community-oriented projects like Storytelling UEH50. There, students become co-creating subjects, connecting academics, practice, and community, opening new career development paths in the fields of art, design, communications, and technology. Through this, the interdisciplinary educational spirit that UEH pursues is clearly reflected – where art, design, communications, technology, and social sciences converge, connecting international standards with local identity to create new values for contemporary society.

Classical Music Concert Spreading Artistic Values

Alongside ArtTech activities, UEH continues to spread academic artistic values through the international classical music program Dream Concert Vietnam 2025, organized in collaboration with the New York Classical Music Society (NYCMS) at 4 different venues, affirming efforts to connect culture and art between Vietnam and the international community. With the participation of 22 artists, the program brought an elegant, profound, and emotionally rich art appreciation space to the public. The performance night at UEH alone attracted 1,000 students, contributing to expanding art appreciation habits and nurturing the spiritual life within the learner community.

With a spirit of innovation, creativity, and social responsibility steadfastly pursued, UEH not only creates inspiring art spaces but also gradually forms a creative community capable of leading positive change for sustainable development. On this foundation, in the journey ahead, UEH will continue to expand art-education initiatives with academic depth and humanistic values, contributing to spreading the spirit of sustainability and connecting domestic and international communities through the universal language of art.
