[UEH 50 Global Partners] UEH Works with Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) to Promote Cooperation and Explore the Latest Trends in Global University Rankings

In the context of higher education undergoing significant transformation toward internationalization, innovation, and sustainable development, UEH continues to expand cooperation with international education and ranking organizations to enhance the quality of education, research, and university governance, gradually realizing its goal of becoming a leading multidisciplinary and multi-field university in Asia.

Attending the working session, QS was represented by Mr. E Way Chong - Regional Partnerships Director and Ms. Yuen Yee Hor - Account Manager. Representing UEH were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Quang Hung - President of UEH, Mr. Vo Duc Hoang Vu - Deputy Head of the Research - Development and Global Engagement Board, and Dr. Le Thi Hanh An - Deputy Head of the Communications and Partnership Development Board.

At the working session, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Quang Hung - President of UEH, emphasized the orientation of enhancing research quality, expanding international cooperation networks, developing the academic workforce, and strengthening UEH’s impact on domestic and international communities. In this process, ranking results and international benchmarking systems are regarded as important sources of reference information, supporting UEH in evaluating the implementation of its strategy and identifying areas requiring priority improvement.

Representing QS, Mr. E Way Chong - Regional Partnerships Director, shared new trends in higher education assessment and rankings, while discussing UEH’s ranking results across several groups of indicators. The two sides then focused their discussions on areas such as academic reputation, employer reputation, research quality and impact, internationalization, sustainable development, and data management capabilities.

In addition, UEH provided an overview of the University’s development journey and outstanding achievements in education, research, innovation, university governance, and community engagement. With nearly 50 years of establishment and development, UEH continues to implement its strategy of becoming a multidisciplinary and sustainable university, aligning education and research activities with the development needs of society. On this occasion, representatives of UEH and QS jointly conducted the UEH Flag Journey ceremony under the "UEH 50 Years - 50 Partners in 5 Continents" program, marking QS’s partnership in UEH’s journey of internationalization and global partnership network expansion.

The working session took place in an open and constructive atmosphere, opening up opportunities for future cooperation between UEH and QS. This also provides an important foundation for UEH to continue realizing its goal of becoming a leading university in Asia and serving as a knowledge hub, contributing to the development of Ho Chi Minh City and the Southeast region into a leading economic, financial, and innovation center in the region, in accordance with the Scheme approved by the Government under Decision No. 966/QD-TTg dated May 29, 2026.

Connecting 50+ partners across 5 continents, affirming UEH’s global standing

Toward the 50-year milestone (October 27, 1976 – October 27, 2026), the UEH 50+ Global Partners in 5 Continents "Embracing Global Connection" program, held throughout 2026, is a strategic initiative to connect 50 partners across 5 continents, expand and deepen UEH's global cooperation network, promote transnational academic, training, and research collaboration, and affirm UEH's role as a multidisciplinary, sustainable university in the global knowledge ecosystem.

This program is part of the series of 22 key activities aimed at repositioning and assigning new roles to the 8 heritage values created over UEH’s 50-year journey: Unity – Compassion – Dedication – Community – Pioneering – Creation – Sustainability – Internationalization.
