UOB Investment Challenge is an academic investment competition jointly organized by UEH College of Business - University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH), UOB Vietnam, and UOB Asset Management (Vietnam). The competition aims to bring investment knowledge and practical experience closer to students, providing them with opportunities to engage with real-world issues in finance and investment. Building on the success of the previous two seasons, UOB Investment Challenge 2026 officially returns for its third season.
The Opening Ceremony was attended by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Phong Nguyen - Rector of the UEH College of Business; Dr. Tran Anh Hoa - Vice Rector of the UEH College of Business; and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Thi Hai Ly - Vice Rector of the UEH College of Business; Dr. Nguyen Tan Trung, Head of COB Office, together with representatives from various units of the UEH College of Business. Representatives from UOB Vietnam and UOBAM Vietnam also attended the event, including Mr. Paul Kim - Head of Personal Financial Services, UOB Vietnam, and Ms. Thieu Thi Nhat Le - Chief Executive Officer of UOBAM Vietnam.
Speaking at the ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Phong Nguyen - Rector of the UEH College of Business, highlighted the importance of university-industry engagement in creating opportunities for students to gain practical exposure. Through initiatives such as the UOB Investment Challenge, students are provided with opportunities to apply their knowledge, gain a better understanding of the industry, and prepare themselves for the evolving demands of the financial market.

Representing the co-organizing institutions, Mr. Paul Kim - Head of Personal Financial Services, UOB Vietnam, extended his warm welcome to the students, lecturers, and partners joining the competition. UOB continues to support students through initiatives that contribute to financial literacy and provide opportunities for practical learning experiences.

In addition, Ms. Thieu Thi Nhat Le - Chief Executive Officer of UOBAM Vietnam, shared her perspectives on the importance of equipping young people with financial knowledge and developing discipline in investment. These are also key areas emphasized throughout the organization of the UOB Investment Challenge.

As part of the program, Mr. Le Hoang Ngoc Minh - Head of Market Research, UOBAM Vietnam, introduced an overview of the UOB Investment Challenge 2026, including the competition rules, key milestones, and new features of this year's season. The session provided students with essential information to better understand the competition and prepare for their participation.
Beyond the competitive component, the UOB Investment Challenge also seeks to strengthen students' knowledge of finance and investment through a range of professional learning activities. Following the introduction to the competition, the featured session “Think Like a Mutual Fund Portfolio Manager” offered students deeper insights into investment portfolio management.
