On April 22, 2026, the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) and the Ho Chi Minh City Public Transport Management Center officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). This event marks the beginning of a strategic partnership between the two institutions, aimed at developing high-quality human resources, promoting scientific research, and advancing smart and sustainable transport solutions for the development of Ho Chi Minh City.

Attending the signing ceremony were representatives from the Ho Chi Minh City Public Transport Management Center, including Mr. Pham Ngoc Dung, Director; Mr. Le Hoan, Deputy Director; Mr. Ha Hoang Ty, Head of Planning and Investment Division; and Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Thanh, Head of Quality Management Division.
On the UEH side, attendees included: Dr. Dinh Cong Khai, Vice President of UEH; Prof. Nguyen Truong Thinh, Vice Rector of the UEH College of Technology and Design and Director of the Institute of Intelligent and Interactive Technologies; Mr. Truong Minh Kiet, Deputy Chief in charge of the University Office; Mr. Nguyen Van Duong, Deputy Head in charge of the Department of Student Affairs; Mr. Phan Lam Thao, Deputy Head of the Departmetn of Student Affairs; Ms. Dao Thi Minh Huyen, Chief of Office of the UEH College of Technology and Design; along with lecturers from the Institute of Smart City and Management.
In his opening remarks, Dr. Dinh Cong Khai highlighted the practical significance of the partnership and affirmed: “As major cities like Ho Chi Minh City are facing increasing challenges related to transportation, the environment, and quality of life, strengthening collaboration between universities and public management agencies is a key solution to driving positive change. UEH is committed to partnering with the Public Transport Management Center to develop high-quality human resources, advance applied research, and promote public awareness of sustainable transport development within the community.”

The Memorandum of Understanding between UEH and the Ho Chi Minh City Public Transport Management Center outlines key areas of cooperation, spanning community engagement, academic activities, scientific research, and specialized training. Specifically:
- The two parties will collaborate to promote and implement the MultiGo application and MultiPass e-ticketing system within the UEH community, including students, staff, and employees. The Center will also support the organization of annual field visits and experiential learning activities on Ho Chi Minh City’s public transport system, while co-organizing competitions, seminars, and sharing sessions to help UEH students gain deeper insights into urban transportation.
- UEH students will be provided with opportunities for internships and practical placements at the Center. Both sides will also strengthen collaboration in youth union activities and student movements between their respective Youth Union organizations.
- The two parties will jointly conduct research, development, and pilot initiatives on smart and sustainable transport solutions, alongside implementing specialized training programs to develop high-quality human resources in the field of urban transportation.
