On May 8, 2026, the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH), in collaboration with Ho Chi Minh City Power Corporation (EVNHCMC), organized the “2026 Training Program on the OECD Corporate Governance Principles” for the corporation’s key executives and managers. The program is a continuation of the cooperation agreement between the two organizations established in 2022, aiming to enhance corporate governance capabilities in line with international standards and promote sustainable development in the new era.
Representing EVNHCMC at the program were Mr. Pham Quoc Bao - Chairman of the Members’ Council; Ms. Do Thi Xuan Chi - Member of the Members’ Council; Mr. Le Tan Dinh - Member of the Members’ Council; Mr. Nguyen Minh Tung - Member of the Members’ Council; Mr. Nguyen Van Thanh - Member of the Members’ Council and General Director, along with Deputy General Directors, corporation leaders, and 25 participants attending the training course.
Representing UEH were Prof. Dr. Nguyen Khac Quoc Bao - Secretary of the UEH Party Committee, Dr. Dinh Cong Khai - Vice President of UEH, together with representatives from related departments and units.

Overview of the training program
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Khac Quoc Bao - Secretary of the UEH Party Committee emphasized that, in the context of transformation and global integration, the adoption and application of advanced governance standards aligned with international practices are becoming increasingly essential, especially for state-owned enterprises and organizations operating critical infrastructure systems such as EVNHCMC.

On behalf of EVNHCMC, Mr. Pham Quoc Bao - Chairman of the Members’ Council of EVNHCMC highly appreciated the practical significance of the training program as the corporation continues to innovate its governance model and improve operational efficiency. He expressed his expectation that the course would provide EVNHCMC’s leadership and management team with modern governance perspectives based on international standards and help effectively apply them to the corporation’s operations.

The training program was specifically designed for EVNHCMC’s key executives and managers, focusing on updates to the 2024 OECD Corporate Governance Principles and their application within EVNHCMC’s current governance model. The curriculum also covered topics such as transparency, information disclosure, risk management, internal control, and the role of the Members’ Council and executive leadership in the context of transformation and integration.
Under the guidance of UEH lecturers and experts, participants gained updated knowledge of corporate governance according to international standards while also broadening their leadership mindset and enhancing adaptability to current innovation demands.

At the closing ceremony, Dr. Dinh Cong Khai - Vice President of UEH affirmed that the course marked another milestone in the ongoing partnership between UEH and EVNHCMC to promote modern, transparent, and sustainable governance capabilities aligned with OECD standards.

Upon completion of the program, all participants fulfilled the course requirements and received certificates of completion issued by UEH.

Following this general training course, based on evaluations of the program’s effectiveness and the implementation outcomes of OECD principles at EVNHCMC, UEH and EVNHCMC will continue collaborating on more specialized training programs focusing on specific aspects of applying and improving the OECD Corporate Governance Principles within EVNHCMC. These future programs will target leadership and management teams across the corporation’s departments and member companies, aiming to maximize the application of OECD corporate governance principles throughout EVNHCMC.
This initiative is considered an important next step in EVNHCMC’s strategy to strengthen corporate governance capabilities according to OECD standards, while also reaffirming UEH’s role in community engagement, knowledge dissemination, and partnership with enterprises in developing high-quality human resources.
