UEH100 - Global Call for Scholars: Connecting 100 global scholars with UEH to lead and create academic impact

The University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) respectfully invites international scholars, researchers, and experts to participate in the UEH100 International Scholar Program with 04 positions: Visiting Professor, Adjunct Professor, Senior Industry Fellow, and Research Fellow.

The UEH100 International Scholar Program is being implemented as UEH restructures its international activities towards integration, systematization, and long-term orientation. With a network of over 125 academic partners across 5 continents, UEH launches the International Academic Ecosystem initiative to develop academic talent, cultivate leading research directions, and increase research impact. Within this structure, UEH100 serves as a connector between global scholars and UEH's research, training, and academic cooperation ecosystem.

With UEH100, UEH not only invites researchers for short-term collaboration but desires to build a community of international scholars committed long-term to the University. Scholars participating in the program will lead research groups with UEH, teach at the postgraduate level, supervise doctoral candidates, co-develop training programs, connect with international partners and funding sources, and contribute to research directions linked to the Asian context and global development issues.

The program is implemented in two phases:
- Phase 2025-2030: focusing on testing and refining policies, aiming to attract at least 30 international scholars.
- Phase 2030-2045: continuing to expand the network, aiming to attract at least an additional 70 scholars, bringing the total cumulative participating scholars to 100 by 2045.

04 Academic collaboration positions for scientists, experts, and researchers

Within the framework of UEH100, UEH is seeking international scholars to participate through 04 academic collaboration positions.

1. Visiting Professor position is suitable for internationally renowned Professors and Associate Professors with high academic reputation and outstanding research achievements currently working at educational institutions or research institutes ranked in the Top 500 worldwide. This position is for scholars with quality international publications, the ability to independently lead and implement new research directions, teach at the postgraduate level, supervise doctoral candidates, connect academic networks, and contribute to elevating research quality at UEH. UEH provides a competitive financial support package ranging from 1,500-2,000 USD/month, along with round-trip airfare, accommodation, visa/work permit support, workspace at UEH campuses, database access, and other research support.

2. Adjunct Professor position is for scholars or lecturers holding a doctoral degree who are permanent staff at other training/research institutions or working in international professional organizations. With a flexible collaboration model, Adjunct Professors can engage with UEH in teaching, research, supervising master's and doctoral students, and developing long-term academic-corporate cooperation. UEH currently applies a fixed financial support mechanism of 1,000-1,500 USD/month, along with airfare, accommodation, and visa/work permit support.

3. Senior Industry Fellow ís the position for leaders, senior experts, managers, or personnel with extensive practical experience in corporations, international organizations, and professional institutions. Through this position, UEH expects to strengthen the connection between academia and practice, promote applied teaching, research based on practical needs, develop case studies, industry projects, and academic-corporate collaborations. Senior Industry Fellows do not receive a fixed monthly salary but are compensated according to teaching, training, consulting, or research activities under UEH's internal regulations.

4. Research Fellow is the position aiming at researchers with independent research capacity, a strong publication record, and a desire for long-term collaboration with UEH for 3-5 years. Research Fellows will collaborate with UEH faculty to produce international publications in SSCI/SCIE or Scopus Q1/Q2 journals, while also participating in academic seminars, conferences, research groups, research projects, and supervising doctoral candidates when appropriate. UEH provides support including research resources, priority access to facilities, performance-based remuneration, flexible working arrangements, and accommodation support during working periods at UEH.

One of the distinguishing features of UEH100 is that scholars do not participate in an isolated position but enter an academic ecosystem that UEH is investing in systematically.

From UEH100, scholars can connect with International Research Labs - IRLs, jointly developing publications, seminars, research data, policy reports, and research-embedded training activities. Additionally, scholars can participate in accompanying UEH's International Project-based PhD. This is also a platform to enhance academic support for early-career scientists, expand substantive international cooperation, and shape in-depth research directions at UEH.

With the orientation of developing an open academic space connecting knowledge, talent, and research impact, UEH hopes that UEH100 will become a meeting point for global scholars to share academic capacity, international experience, and a commitment to creating long-term value for higher education, research, and the community.
