UEH - NEU Joint Key Activities in Khanh Hoa: Connecting Scholars and Converging Knowledge between Two Leading Vietnamese Universities

08 Jan, 2026

A series of strategic cooperation activities between the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) and the National Economics University (NEU) will take place from January 8 to 10, 2026, in Khanh Hoa Province, aiming to celebrate the 50th anniversary of UEH's establishment and the 70th anniversary of NEU's establishment. The choice of Khanh Hoa as the venue underscores the role of the UEH Nexus Campus Nha Trang—UEH's campus in the Central region—in connecting knowledge and partnering for regional development.

NEU and UEH have maintained a heartfelt partnership for many decades, aimed at making tangible contributions to the nation's socio-economic development

The series of key activities in Khanh Hoa is being held as both leading Vietnamese universities are intensifying their strategies to expand academic cooperation, strengthen knowledge connectivity, and enhance their contributions to regional and national development.

The program also marks a new stage in the cooperative relationship between UEH and NEU, continuing the "enduring bond" that has been cultivated over decades. By synergizing academic resources and sharing experiences in training, research, and policy consulting, the two universities are progressively building a model of in-depth cooperation that makes tangible contributions to socio-economic development, Vietnam's higher education system, and the process of global integration.

Therefore, this is not only an activity leading up to the important anniversaries of both universities but also lays the groundwork for subsequent phases of strategic cooperation.

Key activities in the program

Within the framework of the program from January 8-10, 2026, in Khanh Hoa Province, UEH and NEU will implement key activities focused on academic connection, policy dialogue, and engagement with local practice. These include:

  • Exchanging cooperation programs with Khanh Hoa provincial leadership: UEH and NEU will meet with the Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee to discuss cooperation in training, research, policy consulting, and human resource development for the locality.
  • Seminar on administrative exchange between UEH and NEU: The two universities will discuss their cooperative directions by: (i) reviewing the results of their 2020-2025 collaboration, (ii) co-organizing activities for their respective anniversaries, and (iii) discussing a joint program for the 2026-2030 period, with a focus on promoting faculty and student exchanges, co-hosting national scientific conferences, and implementing exchange and volunteer activities.
  • Connecting with local enterprise: This includes a signing ceremony for a cooperation agreement with Khanh Hoa Salanganes Nest State Company Limited and a tour of its production factory. This activity contributes to strengthening the linkage between the university and enterprises while helping to access a specific production-business model associated with maritime economic advantages and local resources.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Quang Hung, UEH Acting President, shared: "The series of activities in Khanh Hoa continues and deepens the cooperative relationship between NEU and UEH—a relationship that has been nurtured for decades and is now being transformed into increasingly substantive, in-depth, and long-term collaborative programs."

With the presence of the UEH Nexus Campus Nha Trang, UEH continues to affirm its role as a hub for connecting stakeholders, from scholars and managers to businesses and local authorities. The UEH-NEU activities in Khanh Hoa are therefore significant not only for the partnership between the two universities but also as a tangible contribution to the academic community, the locality, and the nation, helping to realize the "City University" model that is deeply integrated with regional and social development.
