Overview of the event
Under the leadership of the Honours College UEH.ISB management, the conference focused on clarifying the brand positioning of the talented education model for gifted students and the implementation orientation for the 2026–2030 period, with 4 key pillars: Internal Strength, Scientific Research, Technology & AI, and Work Capacity.
Within the Internal Strength pillar, Assoc. Prof. Tran Phuong Thao emphasized that internal strength is the foundation of growth in the era of technology and AI, where values such as understanding, creativity, adaptability, and decision-making create differentiation. At UEH.ISB, internal strength is built from lecturers, students, and staff through three orientations: intelligence, sustainability, and breakthrough.

Research strength comes not only from the faculty team but also from talented students, master’s students, and doctoral researchers, with support from UEH’s resource system, international partner network, and the ARDC fund.

Within the Work Capacity pillar, Dr. Phan Thi Minh Thu - Executive Director of the ISB Institute - emphasized that in the context of a rapidly changing labor market, work capacity is no longer measured solely by degrees or specialized knowledge, but by adaptability, applied thinking, and practical experience. From this perspective, education must shift from “teaching knowledge” to developing “the capacity to do.”

One notable orientation is the co-teaching model at multiple levels, with the participation of lecturers and business experts in teaching, helping learners access both academic and practical perspectives simultaneously. In parallel, UEH.ISB is also piloting the Externship model in its training programs, creating opportunities for students to experience the workplace environment and gradually shape their professional identity.
At the conference, Dr. Douglas Foster - Provost of Western Sydney Vietnam - acknowledged ISB’s development from an international training institution into the Honours College with a clear orientation and a solid academic foundation. He also expressed his expectation that UEH.ISB will continue to expand international cooperation, improve training quality to global standards, and promote its pioneering role in educating students with global thinking.
