UEH Hosted Closing Ceremony for Cohort 2 and Opening Ceremony for Cohort 3 of the Training Program "Operation Overview and Participation Strategy for the Vietnam International Financial Center"

28 Jul, 2026

On July 25, 2026, the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH), in coordination with the Executive Agency of the Vietnam International Financial Center in Ho Chi Minh City (VIFC-HCMC), organized the Closing Ceremony for Cohort 2 and the Opening Ceremony for Cohort 3 of the program "Operation Overview and Participation Strategy for the Vietnam International Financial Center". The event marked a transitional milestone in the journey of training high-quality human resources to serve the development and operation of the Vietnam International Financial Center (VIFC).

As Vietnam progressively realizes its policy of developing the Vietnam International Financial Center under the "one center, two destinations" model in Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang, the preparation of human resources with in-depth knowledge of institutions, operational mechanisms, and strategies for participating in the international financial ecosystem continues to be identified as a priority task. As a strategic member and official training unit of VIFC-HCMC, UEH continues to partner in the development of a high-quality workforce, meeting the operational requirements of the Vietnam International Financial Center in the new phase.

Overview of the ceremony held in Room B1.205 - Campus B, UEH

Attending the program, on behalf of UEH, were: Dr. Dinh Cong Khai – Vice President of UEH ; MSc. Nguyen Hoang Son – Deputy Head of the Department of Training ; Assoc. Prof. Tran Thi Hai Ly – Vice Rector of the UEH School of Business (COB-UEH) ; Dr. Nguyen Tan Trung – Chief of Office of COB-UEH ; Dr. Nguyen Hoang Le – Director of the Institute of Human Resources and Business Development ; Assoc. Prof. Ngo Minh Vu – Program Director of International Finance, Faculty of Finance, COB-UEH ; along with 36 learners from Cohort 2 and learners from Cohort 3.

In his remarks at the ceremony, Dr. Dinh Cong Khai, Vice President of UEH, emphasized: "The establishment and gradual operationalization of the Vietnam International Financial Center (VIFC) is a major policy direction, reflecting a strategic vision to enhance Vietnam's position on the regional and international financial map. With a tradition of training, research, and community service, UEH considers accompanying the development of human resources for VIFC a strategically significant mission. The University believes that it can make a practical contribution to preparing a team of personnel with knowledge, international integration mindset, and execution capacity for VIFC."

Representing the 36 learners who successfully completed Cohort 2, Mr. Nguyen Quang Tuan shared insights into the practical value the course delivered: "Each session, each module – from the IFC legal framework and exchange platform models to digital assets and risk management – were pieces that helped each of us see the bigger picture. When a banking expert speaks with a blockchain engineer about cross-border payments; when a lawyer asks a fintech professional about the sandbox – that is where VIFC was truly 'assembled' in our thinking."
