On April 14, 2026, as part of the state visit of General Secretary and President To Lam to China, the 2026 Vietnam–China Forum on Higher Education, Science, Technology, and Innovation Cooperation was held at Tsinghua University. The forum brought together around 100 leading higher education institutions, along with enterprises from both countries.
The University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) participated in the forum with a delegation including Assoc. Prof. Bui Quang Hung – Interim President, and Assoc. Prof. Pham Khanh Nam – Head of the Department of Research - Development and Global Engagement. At the event, UEH signed Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs) with Shanghai Jiao Tong University and Dongbei University of Finance and Economics, marking an important step in its internationalization strategy and the development of a global academic ecosystem.

The University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City and Shanghai Jiao Tong University signed the cooperation agreement.
In addition to the signing activities, the UEH delegation participated in bilateral discussions with Guangxi University and Tianjin University, and held working sessions to explore cooperation opportunities with the Academy of Arts & Design, Tsinghua University, and Beijing Foreign Studies University.

Assoc. Prof. Bui Quang Hung met with Prof. Qiong Wu, Dean of the Academy of Arts & Design at Tsinghua University.
The discussions focused on various cooperation directions, including faculty exchange and the implementation of short-term and long-term exchange programs; promoting joint research among faculty members, doctoral candidates, and postgraduate students; developing interdisciplinary projects in design, arts, technology, and sustainable development; as well as co-developing academic programs and academic advisory activities.
Participation in the forum strengthens UEH’s role in the international academic cooperation network and opens up extensive opportunities for collaboration in research, education, and innovation with partner universities in China.
