[UEH 50 Global Partners] UEH College of Technology and Design (CTD) Strengthens Strategic Cooperation with Universiti Sains Malaysia

On April 28, 2026, the UEH College of Technology and Design (CTD) conducted an official visit and working session at Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM), within the framework of the "UEH 50 Years – 50 Partners in 5 Continents" program, opening up numerous practical cooperation opportunities in training and research between the two higher education institutions.

The UEH delegation, led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Trinh Thuy Anh - Rector of the College of Technology and Design (CTD), held a working session with Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) on strategic cooperation orientations such as: implementing faculty and student exchange programs; promoting joint research projects; making academic contributions to the International Conference "Resilience by Technology and Design - FutureScape (RTD 2026)"; as well as coordinating the organization of international-scale academic and creative activities, notably the "International Projection Mapping Competition" and the "ArtTech Fusion 2026" program scheduled to take place in 2026.

Additionally, within the framework of the working visit, CTD attended the "International Design Forum KL 2026" with the theme "Designing Intelligence for Creative Convergence," organized by the School of the Arts, USM. At the forum, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Trinh Thuy Anh participated as a speaker, sharing academic and practical perspectives on promoting co-creation opportunities, in which the young generation plays a central role in the ArtTech field towards a more sustainable and better society.

With a focus on sustainable development and an international vision, USM plays an important role in the higher education ecosystem of the Southeast Asian region.

The cooperation event between UEH and Universiti Sains Malaysia not only marks the beginning of a multi-dimensional cooperative relationship but also opens up numerous learning, research, and career development opportunities for faculty and students of both institutions. Through knowledge connection, resource sharing, and the promotion of co-creation, this relationship contributes to enhancing academic value in the field of art and technology, while also making a positive contribution to sustainable development goals in the context of education globalization.

The establishment of a cooperative relationship with Universiti Sains Malaysia is expected to create a solid foundation for UEH in general and CTD in particular to continue expanding its international partner network, improving training quality, promoting scientific research, and enhancing its academic standing on the international stage.

Toward the 50-year milestone (October 27, 1976 – October 27, 2026), the UEH 50+ Global Partners in 5 Continents "Embracing Global Connection" program, held throughout 2026, is a strategic initiative to connect 50 partners across 5 continents, expand and deepen UEH's global cooperation network, promote transnational academic, training, and research collaboration, and affirm UEH's role as a multidisciplinary, sustainable university in the global knowledge ecosystem.

This program is part of the series of 22 key activities aimed at repositioning and assigning new roles to the 8 heritage values created over UEH’s 50-year journey: Unity – Compassion – Dedication – Community – Pioneering – Creation – Sustainability – Internationalization.
