In Week 4 – July 2026, the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) continued to demonstrate its growing multidisciplinary research excellence through an impressive series of international publications. This week's studies highlight the University's ability to integrate economics, management, technology, data science, social sciences, and engineering to address emerging challenges in digital transformation, artificial intelligence (AI), sustainable development, ESG, and green logistics.
Interpreting Contemporary Challenges Through Modern Theoretical Lenses
From an academic perspective, UEH researchers successfully applied and extended a range of internationally recognized theoretical frameworks, including the Stimulus–Organism–Response (S-O-R) Model, Contingency Theory, Stakeholder Theory, Signaling Theory, Attachment Theory, and contemporary theories on green innovation and sustainable consumer behaviour.
The University's research ecosystem explored several timely themes that reflect today's rapidly evolving global economy:
- - Digital Transformation & Artificial Intelligence: Investigating how Responsible AI influences sustainable consumer decision-making; developing intelligent recruitment systems for higher education and workforce development; applying AI to environmental management for sustainable business performance; and leveraging digital storytelling as an innovative pedagogical approach to enhance intercultural competence and critical thinking.
- - ESG, Green Transformation & Circular Economy: Examining the influence of ESG reputational risk on corporate financing decisions; analysing green management practices and green business model innovation; exploring blockchain-enabled traceability for sustainable food systems; and advancing green logistics and sustainable consumption models.
- - Tourism, Education & Community Development: Exploring the determinants of community participation in community-based tourism; examining how film branding shapes destination loyalty; evaluating healthcare service quality and teacher engagement; and assessing technology-enhanced learning strategies in higher education.
- - Engineering, Mathematics & Environmental Sciences: Conducting advanced research on mathematical analysis, polymer engineering, ship energy efficiency, and atmospheric pollution, providing scientific evidence to support sustainable development and climate resilience.
Advancing Research Excellence Through Innovative Methodologies
UEH's comprehensive research capability continues to be demonstrated through the application of rigorous analytical techniques and advanced data-driven methodologies. This week's studies employed:
- - Artificial Intelligence & Data Science: Applying machine learning, deep learning, blockchain technologies, Responsible AI frameworks, energy-based models, and intelligent decision-support systems across business, environmental management, and education.
- - Econometrics, Behavioural Analytics & Statistical Modelling: Utilizing Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM), Covariance-Based Structural Equation Modeling (CB-SEM), mediation and moderation analysis, panel data techniques, behavioural experiments, and mixed-method research designs to investigate complex economic, social, and managerial issues.
By integrating consumer data, firm-level information, educational datasets, environmental evidence, and national databases, UEH researchers continue to produce studies that combine strong academic rigor with practical implications for businesses, policymakers, and society.
Creating Knowledge for Green Transformation and Digital Innovation
Overall, this week's publications further reinforce UEH's position as a leading multidisciplinary research university. Beyond contributing to global scientific knowledge, these studies generate valuable insights that support digital transformation, green transition, ESG implementation, innovation, and sustainable development, helping address the increasingly complex challenges facing economies and societies worldwide.
