New UEH Publications Alert (Week 1 - May 2026): Expanding Interdisciplinary Frontiers to Address Global Challenges

11 May, 2026

In Week 1 - May 2026, the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) continues to record impressive international publications, further expanding its multidisciplinary research landscape while closely addressing prominent issues in the contemporary global context. This collection of international publications demonstrates UEH’s strong ability to effectively connect rigorous academic foundations with complex real-world challenges.

Adaptive Capacity in an Uncertain Global Context

This week’s studies provide in-depth analyses of macro-level forces reshaping the global economic environment. UEH scholars have delivered important empirical evidence to support policymaking and strengthen organizational resilience through topics such as:

- Macroeconomic volatility: Geopolitical risks, climate policy uncertainty, trade disruptions, natural disasters, exchange rate fluctuations, and tax competition in Southeast Asia.

- Governance and innovation: Evaluating governance quality through the lenses of corporate finance policies, patents, board gender diversity, and especially the gap between symbolic ESG commitments and actual sustainable practices (ESG controversies).

The Intersection of Digital Technology, Engineering, and Governance

Beyond traditional social sciences, UEH’s research scope is increasingly extending into emerging technologies, reflecting the University’s adaptability and interdisciplinary orientation in the digital era:

- Future technologies: Exploring virtual reality (VR) applications in retail, the Metaverse, cryptocurrency adoption, and the role of artificial intelligence (AI) in employee well-being.

- Engineering and everyday life: Advancing interdisciplinary research, such as computer vision for interior design style recognition and force-feedback mechanisms using magnetorheological fluids.

Towards Sustainable Development and an Inclusive Society

The strong presence of socially oriented studies continues to reinforce UEH’s commitment to sustainable development:

- Environment and energy: Proposing solutions for energy poverty, e-waste management, and sustainable consumption behavior.

- Equity and society: Examining legal protection for transgender individuals, improving quality assurance in legal education, analyzing leader knowledge-sharing mechanisms, and investigating psychological behaviors among Generation Z (Gen Z).

From a science communication perspective, this publication series conveys a strong message about UEH’s position as a dynamic research university capable of engaging in international academic discourse.

Beyond expanding research boundaries into frontier topics such as AI, ESG, the Metaverse, and energy transition, these studies also generate practical implications for policymaking, corporate governance, and sustainable community development.
