In Week 4 - May 2026, the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) continues to record an impressive series of international publications, reflecting its expanding interdisciplinary research capacity to address economic, social, technological, and sustainability-related challenges. This week's publications demonstrate UEH’s ability to effectively integrate economics, management, technology, data science, and social sciences within its research ecosystem.
Exploring Contemporary Issues through Advanced Theoretical Perspectives
Academically, UEH scholars have successfully applied and extended a variety of contemporary approaches, including investment efficiency analysis, smart city indicators, topic modeling for experience analysis, sentiment analysis on digital platforms, the Stimulus–Organism–Response (S-O-R) framework in green consumption, and Green Human Resource Management (Green HRM).
UEH’s research ecosystem has actively addressed several timely issues, generating valuable insights from the Vietnamese context:
- Technology & Digital Transformation: Examining differences in engagement between AI-generated and human-generated TikTok content; applying Machine Learning techniques to predict student performance.
- Engineering & Assistive Technologies: Advancing the development and application of robotic solutions that support elderly individuals and patients living with Parkinson’s disease.
- Economics & Sustainable Management: Developing a Smart and Sustainable City Index tailored to the Vietnamese context; identifying pathways for sustainable tea production; and proposing green-oriented strategies for retaining key talent in luxury hospitality businesses.
- Public Policy: Evaluating the impact of public education expenditure on income inequality, contributing to discussions on inclusive economic development.
Integrating Data Science and Advanced Empirical Methods
UEH researchers continue to demonstrate strong empirical capabilities through the integration of advanced analytical techniques:
- Algorithms & Data Mining: Applying Machine Learning, Latent Dirichlet Allocation (LDA) Topic Modeling, and social media sentiment analysis.
- Econometrics & Spatial Modeling: Utilizing Feasible Generalized Least Squares (FGLS) and sophisticated spatial models to address complex research questions.
The combination of large-scale datasets—including corporate data, digital platform data, and provincial-level statistics—with applied technological solutions such as robotics has generated research outcomes that are both academically rigorous and highly relevant to practice.
Creating Knowledge and Expanding Inclusive Impact
Overall, this week’s publications further reinforce UEH’s position as a reputable interdisciplinary research university. Beyond enriching global scientific knowledge, these research efforts contribute directly to innovation, digital transformation, and the advancement of sustainable development goals, generating positive impacts for society in a rapidly changing global environment.
