College of Business UEH Signs Cooperation Agreement with Park Hyatt Phu Quoc for the 2026–2030 Period: Promoting Practice-Oriented Education in Tourism and Hospitality

Representing UEH at the ceremony were: Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Phong Nguyen, Rector of UEH College of Business; Dr. Nguyen Tan Trung, Head of COB Office; Dr. Nguyen Duc Tri, Dean of School of Tourism and Mr. Duong Ngoc Thang, M.A. – Program Director of the Hospitality Management Program, School of Tourism.
Representing Park Hyatt Phu Quoc were: Mr. Shobhit Sawhney, General Manager; Ms. Pham Thi Thu Ha, Human Resources Manager; together with senior managers and representatives from the hotel’s human resources department.
Lecturers and experts in the tourism and hospitality sector also attended the ceremony.
In his opening remarks, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Phong Nguyen, Rector of UEH College of Business, shared: “Our collaboration with Park Hyatt Phu Quoc represents a significant step in strengthening the partnership between academia and industry. It aims to provide students with practical learning environments while contributing to the development of high-quality human resources for Vietnam’s tourism and hospitality sector in the context of global integration.”

The Memorandum of Understanding was signed by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Phong Nguyen, Rector of UEH College of Business, and Mr. Shobhit Sawhney, General Manager of Park Hyatt Phu Quoc. The agreement is effective for the 2026–2030 period, aiming to strengthen cooperation and leverage the strengths of both parties in education, research, and human resource development. Both sides agreed to closely coordinate in connecting educational activities with industry practices while supporting the promotion of each organization’s brand, reputation, and competitiveness in the context of global integration.

Within the framework of the partnership, UEH and Park Hyatt Phu Quoc will implement various initiatives focusing on:

  • Connecting education with industry practice: The hotel will support internship opportunities and send industry experts to participate in guest lectures, sharing practical insights and professional experiences in tourism and hospitality.
  • Curriculum development: Both sides will collaborate in organizing specialized short courses, career orientation programs, and professional skill development activities for students.
  • Research and innovation: The partnership will support research on domestic and international tourism product development while promoting entrepreneurship and innovation in the tourism sector.
  • Recruitment and branding connections: Joint communication activities will be conducted to promote training programs, strengthen recruitment channels, and enhance the brand visibility of both organizations.

In addition, both parties are committed to collaborating on academic activities, including scientific conferences, academic competitions, and knowledge-sharing initiatives, to develop a sustainable education–industry ecosystem.

Through this cooperation agreement, UEH and Park Hyatt Phu Quoc will also participate in community initiatives, including contributions to the “Giving to UEH – For a More Sustainable Future” Fund, aiming to disseminate knowledge and promote sustainable development values within society.
This partnership not only expands UEH’s strategic partner network in the tourism and hospitality sector but also reinforces the university’s commitment to practice-oriented education, contributing to improving the quality of human resources and supporting the sustainable development of Vietnam’s service industry in an increasingly globalized world.
