Western Sydney University (Australia) awards honorary doctorate degree to UEH President

To strengthen its internationalization strategy in the global era, the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) has been fostering collaboration in academic training and research with leading universities in the region and the world. Additionally, UEH has been deepening its collaboration with long-standing partners. On April, 13th 2017, UEH representatives visited Western Sydney University (WSU) to reinforce their partnership.

During this visit, Prof. Barney Glover - President of WSU, Prof. Nguyen Dong Phong - President of UEH, together with leaders, students and professors from the two universities attended the opening ceremony of UEH-WSU Research Collaboration Center at the new building One Parramatta Square of WSU. The establishment of the Center is an important milestone for the partnership and research development of both universities. On that occasion, at WSU graduate ceremony, on April 13th, 2017, Prof. Nguyen Dong Phong was awarded the honorary doctorate of Western Sydney University. Twenty “top students” selected from UEH’s bachelor and master programs joined this trip. They participated in practical and meaningful programs such as conferences, company visits and cultural exchange programs. UEH delegation sincerely appreciated the warm welcome from WSU lecturers and staffs. UEH delegation was also strongly impressed by the high-quality and modern facilities supporting the excellent learning and business research environment at the new WSU building. We are looking forward to seeing more Vietnamese students participating in jointstudy programs with Australian universities in general, and WSU in particular.
