University of Information Technology VNU-HCM visited and exchanged management experiences with UEH

On the morning of May 11, 2021, at Campus A - Nguyen Dinh Chieu, the delegation of the University of Information Technology, Vietnam National University - Ho Chi Minh City visited and exchanged management experiences with the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City.

Mai Van Cuong - Head of Administration Department; MSc. Tran Thi Phuong Trang - Head of Planning - Finance Department. From the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City. Ho Chi Minh, there were Prof. Dr. Nguyen Dong Phong - Chairman of the University Council; Prof. Dr. Su Dinh Thanh - President; Assoc.Prof.Dr. Phan Thi Bich Nguyet - Chairman of the Advisory Council; Mr. Tran Anh Thanh Son - Deputy Chief of the Office in charge of the University Office; Assoc.Prof.Dr. Tran Mai Dong - Head of Human Resources Department; MSc. Tran Thi Huyen Thu - Deputy Head of Finance Department; MSc. Vo Ha Quang Dinh - Head of Information Technology Department.

Representing f the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City leaders, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Dong Phong expressed his honor when the University of Information Technology visited and worked with UEH. UEH is one of the key national universities, pioneering the autonomy mechanism since 2014. The University continuously monitors market signals to make appropriate adjustments and innovate according to learners' needs. One of the examples is that the University has established new units such as the Department of Human Resources, Department of Marketing and Communication, Department of Student Affairs. With the desire to bring Technology into the economic disciplines, UEH hopes to have long-term cooperation with the University of Information Technology to contribute to the economic and social development of the country in the current era of the 4.0 industrial revolution.

Assoc.Prof.Dr. Vu Duc Lung - Chairman of the Council of University of Information Technology expressed his pleasure when the UEH Board of Management facilitated, enthusiastically supported and organized a meeting between two universities. UEH is a long-standing university with many successes in autonomy, governance, and accreditation, and has a position on various international rankings. University of Information Technology is looking forward to sharing about UEH's experience in management and autonomy. In addition, University of Information Technology with the experience in training programs in Information Technology is also willing to share with UEH.

At the meeting, UEH's Board of Management shared their management experiences: advantages and disadvantages in the process of autonomous implementation, activities of the University Council, financial activities, quality improvement and increasing income sources for public employees, internationalization of training programs, innovation of facilities, objectives and key results (OKRs).

The meeting took place in a friendly atmosphere with frank and open sharing from the leaders of the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City. The two universities will discuss and aim to sign a comprehensive MOU on training and scientific research activities in the near future.
