University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City expanding Strategic Cooperation Agreement with Western Sydney University, Australia (WSU)

With the aim of diversifying curricula and strengthening international standard training, on the morning of December 12^th, 2021, University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) officially signed a cooperation agreement with Western Sydney University, Australia (WSU) on diverse contents.

UEH and WSU continue expanding their cooperation relationship and collaborating on deploying 6 new Undergraduate, Postgraduate Programs, and 1 recommended Doctoral Program. This signing act is expected to promote training quality and to open opportunities for Vietnamese students to study and approach advanced academic values in an international standard environment. Therefore, knowledge and skills in various fields are evolved and ready to participate in the global labor market.

Prof. Su Dinh Thanh - President of UEH - expressed his delight when the 2 universities made new progress in their training cooperation relationship. Additionally, this cooperation is correctly obeying strategic development orientation becoming sustainable and multidisciplinary UEH University.

Besides, Prof. Su Dinh Thanh also expressed his faith: “I am sure this cooperation program will be successful similarly to the previous majors (Business, Applied Data Science) that the 2 units have affiliated in the past 10 years. The concerns regarding technology, health sciences, and a variety of other majors are the foundation for the strong development of UEH in general, and that of ISB in particular.”

Especially, in terms of Bilateral PhD Program, this is a strategic decision contributing to constructing an academic background for both ISB and Western Sydney Vietnam. Hopefully, according to Project No. 89, this program will bring opportunities to cultivate and develop competence for all UEh lecturers.

Remarking at the ceremony, Prof. Nguyen Dong Phong - Chairman of UEH Council appreciated this cooperation: “I hope that both two universities will have more meetings to discuss further different curricula, as well as moving towards greater collaboration in the future, particularly in the field of applying technology to teaching.”

This Signing Ceremony is supposed to upgrade the cooperation relationship between UEH - WSU to a new level. Both 2 universities expect to aim at great achievements in the process of affiliation and development.

Western Sydney University is known as a world-class university, which is impactful in global education and famous due to its academic quality and applied research. In 2022, Western Sydney University excellently overcomes 24 places from the 58^thto 34^thposition in Young University Rankings. This University is also in the top 250 (1%) World Best Universities according to reliable Times Higher Education Rankings.

This is an important foundation to completely rely on credibility and quality of affiliating and cooperating education between University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City and Western Sydney University, Australia.
