On October 01, 2025, the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) participated in the National Innovation Day 2025 organized by the Ministry of Science and Technology in coordination with the Ministry of Finance. This flagship event brought together Leaders of the Party and the State, representatives of ministries, sectors, and localities, alongside the business community, research institutes, universities, investment funds, and international organizations; aiming to comprehensively connect the components of the innovation ecosystem and spread the spirit of innovation – a pivotal driver for socio-economic development and international integration.
Notably, the National Innovation Day 2025 was honored by the attendance of General Secretary To Lam and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, together with many senior leaders of the Party and the State. Their presence underscored the national stature of the event and the profound attention of the Party and the State to innovation, recognizing it as an important driving force to advance Vietnam’s rapid and sustainable development in the new period.

With the theme “Nationwide Innovation – A Driver of National Development,” the National Innovation Day 2025 affirmed the determination of the Party and the State to place innovation at the strategic center of socio-economic development, enhancing productivity, competitiveness, and ensuring sustainable growth. The event also honored creative ideas, encouraged the formation and development of a comprehensive innovation ecosystem, and spread the spirit of innovation across all segments of society.
Representing research institutes, universities, and intellectuals at home and abroad, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Khac Quoc Bao – Chairman of the UEH University Council – delivered a supportive address, emphasizing the central role of people in every journey of innovation.
He affirmed: “Innovation does not originate solely from technology, but first from people, nurtured through research, scholarship, and social responsibility. With a learner-centered orientation, UEH builds an advanced educational model that connects global knowledge with local practice and market needs, turning every lecture hall into the birthplace of initiatives that shape the nation.”

Over the years, UEH has not only accompanied innovation events but also pioneered the development of a comprehensive ecosystem for research, training, and entrepreneurship. The university has invested in co-working spaces in Ho Chi Minh City and the Mekong Delta, the Innovation & AI Lab system, MakerSpace, and Smart Library; while developing on internal capacity combined with sustainable financial resources through the UEH Giving Fund and a network of businesses, investors, and the startup community. In addition, UEH has cooperated with more than 100 international partners, deployed a system of living labs together with programs integrating technology, innovation, and sustainability, connecting global knowledge with practice. With this dynamic ecosystem, UEH proudly serves as a launchpad for a generation of creative entrepreneurs, accompanying 170 startup enterprises, supporting more than 100 student projects to realize technological solutions, and attracting nearly USD 1.5 million in investment capital from domestic and foreign funds.

Within the framework of the Day, UEH also attended the VNEI Summit 2025 — the annual conference organized by the National Innovation Center (NIC) in coordination with the Vietnam University and College Innovation and Entrepreneurship Network (VNEI). Under the theme “International cooperation in promoting innovation and entrepreneurship activities at universities and colleges,” the conference summarized activities in 2025, set directions for implementing Resolution 57, and fostered multilateral cooperation among universities. At the event, the UEH Institute of Innovation was honored to be selected as one of the Top 5 Exemplary Organizations of VNEI in 2025.
