UEH meeting and working with Prof. Dominique Laffly - Attaché to the Embassy of the French Republic in Vietnam

On February 18^th, 2022, University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) had a meeting and worked with Prof. Dominique Laffly - Attaché of the Embassy of the French Republic in Vietnam, discussing the PhD program for the Outstanding at the French Embassy and Capacity-enhancement Project under ERASMUS Program.

Attending the meeting, on behalf of UEH, there were Prof. TS. Sử Đình Thành – UEH Rector, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hồ Viết Tiến - Director of UEH School of Graduate, Dr. Trịnh Tú Anh - Director of UEH Institute of Smart Cities and Management (ISCM) as well as representatives from the UEH Department of Scientific Management - International Cooperation.

Professor Dominique Laffly used to lecture at University of Toulouse (France) with extensive expertise in GIS (Geographic Information System). He is currently Attaché of Science and Technology, being in charge of universities and research fields, French Embassy in Vietnam.

Welcoming the visit and working of Prof. Dominique Laffly, Prof. Dr. Sử Đình Thành - Rector of UEH shared: “We do believe that this cooperation will be successful in the future with projects that Prof. Dominique Laffly and ISCM-UEH have been implementing. UEH, especially interested in the field of technology and design, considers this as a new potential cooperation which is the foundation for the development of UEH in general and of Prof. Dominique Laffly in particular. UEH is looking forward to working with Prof. Dominique Laffly regarding the PhD program for the Outstanding at the French Embassy and the Capacity-enhancement Project under ERASMUS program”.

During this meeting, the two parties had the opportunity to review the cooperation relationship in the past years and to discuss future cooperation. Prof. Dominique Laffly highly appreciated the application-oriented development strategy and vision as well as the spacious and modern learning facility at UEH. Mr. Dominique cordially invited UEH leaders to attend “Strengthening the capacity of Erasmus member universities” workshop that is expected to be held in Quy Nhơn City in the second quarter of 2022. He also expressed his willingness to support and attend events, professional activities and training cooperation with UEH in the near future.

In addition, UEH leaders and Prof. Dominique Laffly discussed bilateral cooperation promotion on Doctoral-level training between UEH and French universities, expanding learning opportunities and cultivating knowledge for learners through advanced training programs.
