UEH Hosted the 2nd Annual Meeting of the Russian-Vietnamese Consortium of Economic Universities (RVCEU)

On November 18, 2025, at Room A205, Campus A, the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) hosted the 2nd Annual Meeting of the Russian-Vietnamese Consortium of Economic Universities (RVCEU). The meeting aimed to strengthen academic cooperation, review the progress of ongoing projects, and establish a new framework for collaboration among the consortium's member universities.

The meeting was attended by a delegation from the Russian Federation, including Prof. Maksim Legashov, Vice Rector for Economics and Finance of UNECON; Dr. Liliya Prikhodko, Vice Dean for International Affairs at Financial University; Dr. Irina Kartzeva, Head of the International Projects Group at Financial University; Dr. Oleg Bodyagin, Head of the International Office at Rostov State University of Economics; Ms. Alyona Zainullina, Specialist of the Department of International Cooperation at UNECON; and Ms. To Tuyet Khanh, Senior International Relations Specialist, Russian Embassy for Education and Science at Financial University.

From the Vietnamese side, attendees included Dr. Dao Thanh Tung, Head of International Cooperation Office, National Economics University, and Mr. Nguyen Van Nam, Deputy Director of the International Education Institute, Hanoi University of Finance and Banking.

Representing UEH were Dr. Dinh Cong Khai – Vice President of UEH; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Khanh Nam – Head of the Department of Research - Development and Global Engagement (RDGE); Mr. Vo Duc Hoang Vu, M.A. – Deputy Head of RDGE; and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Duong Phuong Thao – Deputy Head of RDGE.

The meeting also included online participation via Zoom from other Consortium members, who played a vital role in the success of the event.

In his opening speech, Dr. Dinh Cong Khai, Vice President of UEH and Co-President of the Consortium, welcomed the delegates to the 2nd Annual Meeting and emphasized the significance of RVCEU as an academic network established to promote bilateral cooperation in training, scientific research, knowledge transfer, cultural exchange, and the development of high-quality human resources for both Vietnam and the Russian Federation.

"UEH is honored to host the RVCEU member universities at this year's meeting. We are committed to partnering, expanding cooperation, and implementing academic exchange programs in line with the consortium's objectives," shared Dr. Dinh Cong Khai.

Representatives of the consortium also expressed high appreciation for UEH's efforts in organizing and promoting collaborative activities among member universities. This meeting was a crucial opportunity to review past achievements and set new directions for the 2025-2027 period.

During the meeting, the delegates focused on discussing the following key topics:

Reviewing the Consortium's activities and results since the inaugural meeting in 2025.
Discussing joint research and exchange activities.
Developing a future cooperation plan and a collaborative framework for the 2025-2027 period.
Considering and approving new members of the Consortium.
Updating the Consortium's regulations for the 2026-2027 period.
Holding bilateral exchanges between University Boards of Presidents/Rectors and the Russian delegation.

Specifically, before the bilateral sessions, UEH signed Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs) with two key partners: Saint-Petersburg State University of Economics (UNECON) and Rostov State University of Economics. This event not only marks a new step in the cooperative relationship between the parties but also opens up opportunities for implementing concrete, practical, and long-term collaborative projects in the future.

Delegates discussed cooperation details at the RVCEU meeting

As part of the series of activities, on November 19, 2025, the delegation continued its working program in the Mekong Delta region. This activity aimed to help the delegates understand the operational model of UEH Mekong and experience the socio-economic context of the region, thereby laying the foundation for future inter-regional research and academic connections between the two countries.

The 2nd Annual Meeting of the RVCEU at UEH has contributed to strengthening the bonds between member universities, expanding opportunities for training and research cooperation, and promoting cultural and academic exchange between Vietnam and Russia. The event also affirmed UEH's role in proactively leading international cooperation initiatives, developing a multidimensional academic network, and supporting high-quality human resources for the region and the world.
