On August 22, 2025, the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) was honored to receive the Government's Emulation Flag, under Decision No. 1802/QD-TTg, for its outstanding completion of tasks and for leading the emulation movement of the Ministry of Education and Training in 2024. UEH is honored to receive the Government's Emulation Flag as the leading unit of the Ministry of Education and Training for 2024.

Established in 1976, UEH is one of the nation's key public universities. It was among the first to be granted autonomy by the Government and has now officially become one of the nine higher education institutions in Vietnam operating under the "Multidisciplinary and multi-field University" model. With nearly 50 years of formation and development, UEH has always pioneered innovation in higher education, fostering connections between the University, businesses, the community, and localities, and contributing a high-quality workforce and scientific knowledge to the nation's socio-economic development.

In 2024, UEH achieved many impressive results, officially entering the Top 501-600 in the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings 2025 and the Top 650 in the QS World University Rankings: Sustainability 2025, among other rankings. These achievements affirm UEH's reputation and the quality of its training and research on the international stage. They also serve as a testament to UEH's commitment to implementing its Multidisciplinary and Sustainable University strategy, using a knowledge foundation to address societal challenges and create positive impact through academic activities.

Over the past year, UEH has established 131 OKRs across five pillars -Training, Research, Community Engagement, Governance, and Operations - with many outstanding achievements:

+ Achieved enrollment targets with a high-quality intake, affirming UEH's reputation, appeal, and position among learners and society. Training programs continue to be standardized under the Glocal training pillar, integrating knowledge with technology skills and sustainable development, and nurturing a generation of global citizens who act for sustainability.

+ Strengthened scientific activities, international cooperation, and community-oriented research, with over 550 articles published in international journals listed in ISI/Scopus, many of which have high impact factors in fields such as economics, management, technology, and sustainable development. These works make practical contributions to global issues like the circular economy, smart cities, and climate change.

+ Expanded cooperative relationships with over 100 international universities and organizations, successfully implementing numerous meaningful interdisciplinary research projects and academic exchange programs. Promoted innovation and entrepreneurship, enhanced engagement, consulting, and knowledge transfer, and began to form the City-University model.

+ Modern university governance and comprehensive digital transformation: Perfected the multidisciplinary university model and promoted digitalization in governance, teaching, and research, creating a foundation for flexible development and global connectivity. UEH marked five years of operational expansion with significant milestones in the Mekong region, laying a crucial groundwork for its continued expansion strategy into the Central region with the establishment of the UEH Nexus Campus in Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa.

+ Continued to implement and enhance the Living Lab UEH Green Campus project; invested resources and diversified activities to support and care for learners, achieving many successes in student activities; and strived to build an organizational culture of a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) and Happy University.

The Government's Emulation Flag, which recognizes our outstanding completion of tasks and leadership in the 2024 emulation movement of the Ministry of Education and Training, is a great source of pride and a testament to the solidarity and relentless efforts of all UEHers. It is also a motivation for UEH to continue innovating, integrating, and developing, striding firmly on the path to becoming a multidisciplinary university that makes practical contributions to the sustainable development of Vietnam and the world.” - shared Prof. Dr. Su Dinh Thanh, President of UEH.

With the spirit of "Innovation - Integration - Sustainability," as it enters its next stage of development, UEH aims to maintain its pioneering position in Vietnamese higher education, enhance training quality, promote scientific research, expand international cooperation, and solidify its place in prestigious global academic rankings. This esteemed award from the Government is a well-deserved recognition of the contributions of the entire UEH community and a driving force for the University to continue conquering new heights on its journey of integration and sustainable development.
