UEH honored for Smart education initiatives at EDTECH Vietnam 2025, affirming its position as a pioneer in digital transformation

UEH was recognized in two central categories at EDTECH Vietnam 2025:

Category 1: School/Educational Environment of the Year
Category 3: Educational Impact of the Year

UEH was one of the distinguished institutions honored in the "School/Educational Environment of the Year" and "Educational Impact of the Year" categories

These two awards acknowledge UEH's outstanding contributions to building a smart educational environment, achieving positive results and impacts in innovation and digital transformation, and enhancing the quality of higher education in Vietnam.

Dr. Thai Kim Phung – Deputy Head of the Department of Communications and Partnerships, University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City, represented UEH to receive the award for the Educational Impact of the Year

In its journey to realize the smart university model, UEH has steadfastly implemented specific, long-term strategies to create a modern, open, and fully digitized academic ecosystem, laying a solid foundation to earn its distinction as the "Educational Environment of the Year." Specifically, the university has:

Established and operated 25 smart classrooms along with a Simulation Center for teaching and research (UEH Simulation Center); a large-scale equipment system including 421 projectors, 26 smartboards, 747 student computers, and 200 automated control lecterns.
Upgraded over 500 lecture halls to support the Hybrid learning model (combining simultaneous in-person and online teaching).
Fully digitized the UEH Library, providing online access to 868,167 electronic resources, integrating the Pearson platform, over 100 open-access sources, combined with OneSearch and OpenAthens systems to enable access to learning materials anytime, anywhere.
Implemented Blended eLearning for 100% of its courses and integrated the UEH AI System (https://ai-lab.ueh.edu.vn/ ) into the UEH LMS to enhance management and teaching quality.
Concurrently, numerous faculty and administrative staff have been trained to utilize IT systems and online lecture creation tools. The learning environment is supported by 10,660 Mbps of bandwidth and 556 free Wi-Fi access points across all campuses.

In the Educational Impact of the Year category, UEH was honored for its initiative to fully digitize the management process for theses and dissertations at the Bachelor's, Master's, and PhD levels. - a technological solution developed by UEH in 2024, demonstrating the university's technological autonomy in the context of educational digital transformation.

The "Thesis and Dissertation Management and Evaluation Process Management System" integrates three public-facing platforms: UEH Internship, UEH Thesis, and UEH PhD, managing over 40 key functions of the entire thesis/dissertation defense process, from eligibility verification and proposal development to the final defense. By ensuring comprehensive digitization, security, and authentication, with data interconnected with other university systems like UIS, LMS-UEH, and the UEH Scientific Research Management System, the solution has significantly enhanced operational and administrative efficiency while saving on printing and storage costs. According to statistics, all training management staff rated the system as a significant improvement in management efficiency and learner service quality.

With the orientation that "technology is a core tool for learning, research, and innovation," the three platforms—UEH Internship, UEH Thesis, and UEH PhD—have formed a seamless digital academic management system that streamlines administrative procedures and supports learners at all three levels of education. Furthermore, UEH is ready to share and transfer this solution to other educational institutions, thereby spreading the value of digital transformation and contributing to the sustainable development of higher education in Vietnam.

About the Technology and Digital Transformation in Education Forum - EDTECH VIETNAM 2025

The Education Technology and Digital Transformation Forum – EDTECH VIETNAM 2025 is a prestigious national event in the field of digital technology application and digital transformation in education, held under the guidance and patronage of the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations, the Ministry of Education and Training, and the Ministry of Science and Technology.
