UEH Deepens Ties with Sunway University and Signs MoU with INTI International University; UEH Students Shine at ICSE 2025

30 Sep, 2025

UEH’s delegation completed a high-impact working visit to Malaysia from 22–25 September 2025, combining leadership dialogues at Sunway University, an MoU signing with INTI International University (Nilai), and a study tour featuring lectures, workshops, and conference presentations. On 25 September, led by UEH Vice President Dr. Dinh Cong Khai, the delegation met Sunway University’s Provost and representatives from the School of Hospitality and Tourism Management, Sunway Business School, and the Centre for English Language Studies to frame an expanded cooperation agenda. Priority areas include short-term mobility and semester exchange, co-taught EMI/ESP modules and micro-credentials, joint research/co-supervision, and industry-linked projects. The parties also convened a focused technical session to map curriculum collaboration, internships, and co-branding mechanisms for rollout in 2026.

That afternoon at INTI International University, UEH and INTI formalized institutional cooperation through a Memorandum of Understanding, witnessed by leaders from both institutions. The signing sets out a practical pathway to launch student exchanges, co-taught courses, co-hosted conferences/workshops, lecturer exchanges, and joint academic initiatives, thereby accelerating internationalization and operational alignment between UEH and Malaysian partners.

Running in parallel, a four-day study tour engaged 20 UEH students across English, Business, International Business, Media Technology, and Tourism. On 22 September at Sunway University, students attended lectures and hands-on workshops in Intercultural Communication, applying frameworks for global competence to authentic case scenarios. On 23 September at INTI, they joined joint classes and cultural exchange activities with study-tour cohorts from India and China, emphasizing academic presentation, cross-cultural teamwork, and regional networking. On 24 September, UEH—serving as co-organizer—contributed 13 faculty–student presentations at the International Conference on Sustainable Education (ICSE 2025) hosted by INTI. Notably, two UEH students, Tran Nguyen Tu Uyen and Ngo Le Hai Yen, earned Best Paper Presentation awards in 2 of the conference’s 5 tracks, selected from over 235 submissions by scholars representing 17 countries—a testament to UEH’s emerging research talent and English-medium academic communication capabilities.

Overall, the mission achieved three strategic outcomes: (1) strengthened leadership-level frameworks with Sunway University; (2) deeper academic–operational coordination at school/college level for rapid piloting of EMI/ESP and mobility models; and (3) formal institutional partnership with INTI via MoU, enabling immediate next steps in student exchange, co-teaching, joint research, and enterprise engagement—advancing UEH’s 2025–2030 agenda for quality, sustainability, and global integration.
