UEH celebrates its 45th anniversary - Toward Future University

In celebrating UEH’s 45th anniversary (October 27, 1976 - October 27, 2021) with the theme “UEH Toward Future University”, Microsite 45 years has officially been launched and gone live for access. This site is where communities of scientists, researchers, business organizations, and even individuals can come together alongside UEH to promote the sharing of knowledge, civility, and other comprehensive educational values to the public.

This year’s 45th milestone signifies the start to a great journey Toward Future UEH University.

Unlike previous anniversary celebratory rituals, “Toward Future University” is this year’s new and unique central theme where not only do we honor past achievements and show appreciation to meaningful contributors of UEH, it also marks an important turning point for the university as we embark on university-wide restructuring, advancing UEH into the new age. Professor Nguyen Phong Phong, Chairman of UEH University Council shared, “With ‘Toward Future University’, UEH hopes to continue to be a top-of-mind companion choice in the global higher education community through our diverse participation in various multidisciplinary activities. From there, we aspire to become a reputable and prestigious multidisciplinary university within Asia by 2030.”

The future UEH University is oriented towards the model of a multi-disciplinary university, which is a popular trend in the world, helping to promote research and training capacity to meet the diverse needs of the market, gaining access to great training, research and consulting projects. Developing multidisciplinary universities will facilitate participation in international rankings, elevating the position of Vietnamese higher education institutions on the world map. This is also an opportunity for the university to increase cooperation and connection through effective exploitation of scientific research, applied research, research transfer, timely update and the spread of new knowledge to the community and society.

With the goal of "Connecting community - Spreading knowledge", the themed "Toward Future University" Microsite (*) is specially designed to be a digital exhibition of more than 45 articles across 3 top fields in the age of Industrial Revolution 4.0, including: Digital Economy, Smart Governance and Innovation. Additionally, all planned workshops and seminars will bring about a contemporary feel to the celebration, such as National Conference - Digital transformation revolution and challenges for tourism businesses; International Conference – Blockchain in the current and future economy; Innovation Management Seminar – in4biz: Future Tech, etc.

The program "Community Connection - Spreading Knowledge" - An opportunity for individuals and organizations to connect, share and receive academic and intellectual values

Having been launched since UEH’s 44th anniversary (October 27, 2020), the program “Connecting Community - Spreading Knowledge” aims to gather and promote the strength in resources of the 5 entities: university - state - scientist - business - community, connecting through the 4 topics: Connect to train and apply; Connect to conduct scientific research; Connect to attract young talents; and Connect to contribute to “UEH Connecting Community - Speaking Knowledge” Fund. More especially, the UEH Fund is also implemented with 3 main focuses: (1) Nurturing future generations through “Talent Development” and “Fostering Dreams” scholarships for excellent students and students under difficult circumstances respectively; (2) Reaching towards international standards to accompany and provide opportunities to talented lecturers and students who wish to embark on a journey abroad; (3) Sharing further knowledge through the accompanying and sponsoring of various university-level activities, such as scientific seminars, workshops, student activities, etc. With this program, UEH hopes that individual contributors, along with business organizations can continue to work alongside the university to further ignite the fire and passion in UEH generations, promising a more dynamic and prosperous future for the university in the coming days.

A 45-year story – Reflecting on a journey’s past

In order to maintain its reputation and position as one of 14 key national universities in Vietnam with a series of impressive achievements in both domestic and international rankings, and as a multidisciplinary institution, UEH continues to receive great attention from various organizations and individuals as we continue our mission to train many future generations of young talents and industry leaders. Microsite 45 years shall be a “miniature UEH” where stories about the university’s growth and development are enthusiastically shared. The 45-year journey will be painted from different perspectives through the online UEH Lookbook - Reflecting on 45 years, to relive the glory that were past generations of UEH while carrying the torch to ignite the fire in future generations.

The UEH Lookbook online photo exhibition (https://future.ueh.edu.vn/#section-lookbook) is a place where every UEHer, wherever they are, can share the most memorable UEH photos in their hearts.

Celebrating the 45-year mark of a brilliant career, towards UEH Multidisciplinary University in the future, the Microsite is expected to be where communities of scientists, researchers, business organizations, and even individuals can come together alongside UEH to promote the sharing of knowledge, civility, and other comprehensive educational values to the public.
