UEH Announces and Presents Personnel Appointment Decisions, Strengthening Leadership and Supporting Unit Development

On August 10, 2026, the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) held a ceremony to announce and present the appointment decision for the position of Vice Dean of the School of Economics, UEH College of Economics, Law and Government (CELG) for the 2025–2030 term, contributing to enhancing governance capacity and meeting the development requirements of the School of Economics, UEH CELG in the new phase.

The ceremony took place within the framework of the Week 32 briefing session, attended by the UEH leadership team, the Chairman of the UEH Strategy Council, the Chairman of the UEH Alumni Executive Board, the Chairman of the UEH Academic and Scientific Council, the Chairman of the UEH Trade Union, the Boards of Management of UEH member colleges, and the leadership of the School of Economics and other units attending the briefing session.

In accordance with the prescribed personnel procedures, UEH carried out the process of strengthening the full leadership team of the School of Economics, UEH College of Economics, Law and Government (CELG). Based on the results of that process, the President of UEH presented the decision appointing Dr. Hồ Quốc Thông as Vice Dean of the School of Economics, UEH College of Economics, Law and Government, for a five-year term effective from 10 August 2026.

Delivering his remarks and assigning responsibilities, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bùi Quang Hùng expressed his confidence that Dr. Hồ Quốc Thông and the leadership of the School of Economics would continue to build on their capabilities, strengthen stability and solidarity, and create a foundation for the School’s next stages of development. He also encouraged the School to focus on developing its faculty, creating opportunities for capable young lecturers, strengthening connections with science and technology institutes, and developing training programmes tied to emerging fields such as the environment and technology, thereby contributing to the overall development direction of UEH College of Economics, Law and Government.

Strengthening the leadership and management team of the School of Economics is an important step in reinforcing the resources for the unit’s operation and development. In his new role, Dr. Hồ Quốc Thông is expected to continue drawing on his capability, experience and sense of responsibility, working alongside the School of Economics in achieving its development goals and contributing to UEH’s strategy of becoming a multidisciplinary university with sustainable development and academic reputation in the region.
