MOU Signing Ceremony Between UEH And Institute of Management Accountants (IMA)

On the morning of May 24, 2023, the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) and the Institute of Management Accountants signed an agreement on cooperation in professional training programs to improve education and career opportunities for students.

On the UEH side, there was the participation of Dr. Dinh Cong Khai – UEH Vice President; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Thanh Trang - Associate Rector of College of Business UEH (CoB); Dr. Dinh Thi Thu Hong – Vice Rector of College of Business; Assoc.Prof.Dr. Pham Quang Huy – Deputy Head of Undergraduate Training; Mr. Truong Minh Kiet MSc – Head of Department of Marketing – Communication; Dr. Nguyen Tan Trung - Head of Administration office; Dr. Tran Anh Hoa – Dean of School of Accounting; Dr. Nguyen Phuoc Bao An – Vice Dean of School of Accounting; with Heads/Deputy Heads of Departments and Program Directors of the School of Accounting.

Opening the signing ceremony, Dr. Dinh Cong Khai shared how grateful they are for the collaborative effort between both parties: “As an integral part of UEH University’s strategic initiatives, we are proactively dedicated to internationalizing our training programs by forging strategic partnerships with globally recognized professional organizations. We know that IMA is an international professional organization that continuously raises the standard of excellence for the management accounting profession for more than 100 years with about 140,000 members in 150 countries. The MOU between UEH and IMA signifies a significant milestone, opening doors to a multitude of mutually beneficial opportunities. Both UEH and IMA share a unified objective of providing students with extensive learning and educational pathways, empowering them to pursue globally recognized professional qualifications that will substantially enhance their future career prospects.”

On behalf of IMA, Dr. Josh Heniro expressed his joy when UEH - one of the Top universities not only in Vietnam but also in the region - signed a cooperation agreement. Under the current rapid development of AI technology, he recommends that Accounting students must constantly learn and strive to improve their skills to keep up with the changing speed of technology. Dr. Josh Heniro emphasized: “IMA is committed to standing with UEH to support not only students but also the entire faculty. We provide a variety of resources worth $1 million to UEH students and faculty, including scholarships and other research grants.”

After the signing ceremony, an inspirational talk show about career development was led by Mr. Gin Toh, Mr. Truong Thanh Trung, FCCA, CPA, Ms. Tran Thi Xuan Mui, MBA and Ms. Hoa Huynh Phuong Anh, ACCA has spread passion and encouraged the spirit of continuous learning to UEH students for the profession they have chosen themselves. Although the time was not too long, the presentation in the program brought a lot of useful information and practical experiences, helping students to be prepared well and become excellent personnel in the future. This program has attracted the participation of nearly 100 students who majored in accounting and auditing.
