Conference: Information Systems in Business and Management - ISBM16

In the morning of Dec 24, 2016, at 59C Nguyen Dinh Chieu campus, University of Economics Hochiminh City (UEH) and the Liaison Committee of Community of MIS training universities in Hochiminh City jointly organized the scientific conference on Information Systems in Business and Management - ISBM16.

The conference aims to promote the development of the field of management information systems (MIS) as well as to provide opportunities for lecturers and researchers to announce and discuss their research results.

The conference welcome distinguished guests such as Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Huu Huy Nhut - UEH Vice President, Head of Conference Organizing Committee; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Si Dong - Vice President of Banking University of Hochiminh City, Deputy Head of Conference Organizing Committee; Prof. Jengchung (Victor) Chen - Director of the Institute of International Management, National Cheng Kung University (Taiwan); as well as students, graduate students, faculty, scientists, and experts from universities and research institutes.

The conference attracted the attention of many researchers from universities and research institutes in Hochiminh City. After receiving and selecting many papers, the conference organizing committee has published the ISBM16 Conference Proceeding. This proceeding is a collection of the latest researches done by researchers from the universities of MIS-HCM community to solve the problem of information system applications in business and management. A total of 22 papers in the proceeding are divided into two main themes:

(1) Information systems in enterprises;

(2) Modern computational methods and decision-making support methods in business and management.

These papers have adopted many different approaches, from approximate reasoning models for economics, quantitative models for information systems, to machine learning and data mining in business.

In this conference, the organizing committee also introduced the postgraduate program on management information system offered by UEH and National Cheng Kung University (Taiwan).
