Climate Change, Coastal Vulnerability, Urban Flooding Resilience - A Seminar in HCMC

In the morning of Dec 8, 2016, at 1A Hoang Dieu Campus, School of Economics of UEH held a seminar on Climate Change, Coastal Vulnerability, Urban Flooding Resilience presented by Dr. Susmita Dasgupta, Lead Environmental Economist, Environment and Energy Team, Development Research Group, World Bank. Dr. Susmita Dasgupta has conducted many researches on climate change in many countries including Vietnam. Her research topics considered some problems such as toxicity of agricultural pesticides; scenarios of sea level rise and coastal flooding impacts, etc.

The seminar was attended by Dr. Susmita Dasgupta - Lead Environmental Economist, World Bank; Dr. Pham Khanh Nam - Vice Dean, School of Economics, UEH;  Mr Le Thanh Nhan - Vice Dean, School of Economics, UEH; along with many researchers and graduate students.

The presentation of Dr. Susmita Dasgupta at the seminar consisted of two parts:

- Climate Change and Coastal Vulnerability of Bangladesh (A PolicyResearch Talk)

- Urban Flooding of Greater Dhaka in a Changing Climate: Building local Resilience to Disaster Risk (A Multidisciplinary Research Summary)

These were the results of research activities that Dr. Dasputa had conducted for more than 7 years.
