The Southern Key Economic Zone plays an important role in promoting the socio-economic development of Vietnam. In particular, Ho Chi Minh City, as the very core of economic, financial, and commercial development, is holding the role in promoting the overall development of the Region. In the current new trend, the economic development strategy of the Southern Key Economic Zone in general and Ho Chi Minh City in particular must ensure the goal of attracting resources from financial to human, and must be linked with the goal of sustainable development with the foundation of science, technology and innovation, using resources effectively on the available potential position.
Recently, on the afternoon of November 3, 2023, at Hall A of the Dong Nai Provincial Party Committee, University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) in coordination with the Dong Nai Provincial Party Committee to solemnly organize the closing ceremony of the "Knowledge-fostering and updating program to improve executive competence for leaders and managers of Dong Nai Province in 2023" with the theme "Improving leadership and management competence to promote competitiveness and sustainable development for localities in the context of global economic integration" for 45 learners who are Directors of Departments/Devisions/Services, Heads of Committees under the People's Council, Chairmen of People's Committees of districts/cities under the Province, Presidents and General Directors of companies under the People's Committee of Dong Nai Province.
On the morning of October 7, 2023, the University Opening Ceremony of Batch 49 officially took place at the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) with the theme "The Next UEH Gen: Smart & Green". The Opening Ceremony is the "train" that begins the journey of discovering and finding the best versions of more than 7,000 new K49 students - the next Gen Z of UEH!
Recently, to limit the negative impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic, most countries in the world, in addition to health policies, have implemented social policies. On the other hand, the extent regarding the effectiveness of these policies is not the same. In this article, the authors from University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) propose some social policy responses in some countries; on this basement, in order to draw some lessons for Vietnam to be able to cope with the future epidemic crises.
