University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City and Thu Duc City People's Committee Officially Signing a Cooperation Agreement

On the afternoon of April 11, 2024, the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) and the People's Committee of Thu Duc city officially signed a Cooperation Agreement. This was an important event marking long-term and sustainable cooperation between the two sides in training, consulting, criticism, research, and transfer of science and technology, building smart and creative urban areas to contribute to the common development of Thu Duc City and UEH.

Attending the Signing Ceremony, on behalf of UEH, there was the presence of Prof.Dr. Su Dinh Thanh - Director of UEH; Dr. Dinh Cong Khai - Deputy Director of UEH; Dr. Trinh Tu Anh - Director of Institute of Smart Cities & Management, UEH - CTD; Mr. Tran Anh Thanh Son - Deputy Chief of the University Office; Mr. Truong Minh Kiet - Head of Department of Marketing and Communication; lectures and leaders of Departments and Divisions under UEH.

On behalf of Thu Duc City People's Committee, there was the attendance of Mr. Nguyen Huu Hiep - Secretary of Thu Duc City Party Committee; Mr. Hoang Tung - Deputy Secretary of Thu Duc City Party Committee, Chairman of Thu Duc City People's Committee; Mr. Nguyen Ky Phung - Member of Thu Duc City Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of Thu Duc City People's Committee; and Heads of specialized agencies under the People's Committee of Thu Duc City.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Mr. Hoang Tung - Chairman of Thu Duc City People's Committee - expressed his honor and expectation that the cooperation agreement with University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City would help improve the efficiency of government and operations to serve people and businesses in Thu Duc City.

Remarking on the responsibility of UEH, Prof.Dr. Su Dinh Thanh - President of UEH - emphasized "With the desire to contribute to the economic development of the country, University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City always promotes international cooperation, applied research, innovation, knowledge transfer, and policy advice for localities. Therefore, signing a cooperation agreement with Thu Duc City People's Committee wouldl be a premise to open a long-term cooperation between the two units aiming at outstanding development in many fields in the future."

After discussing and agreeing on operational directions in the near future, UEH and Thu Duc City People's Committee have officially signed a Cooperation Agreement between the two parties with the following contents:

Cooperation in training and human resource development.
Cooperation in research, science and technology transfer, digital transformation, and smart cities according to the applied research orientation of Thu Duc City.
Cooperation in specialized science and technology consulting for science and technology tasks deployed in Thu Duc City.
Cooperation in co-organizing specialized scientific conferences in the city.
Cooperation in critical consulting on annual and 5-year programs, policies, and socio-economic development plans of Thu Duc City.
Cooperation in critical consulting for urban planning projects and investment projects; proposal on creative urban construction contents in Thu Duc City.
Collaboration on research and proposal on contents to implement Resolution No. 98/2023/QH15 on piloting a number of specific mechanisms and policies for the development of Ho Chi Minh City.
Strengthening the cooperation between Thu Duc Youth Union and University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union with priority given to receiving students for internships at departments of Thu Duc City.
