On September 15, 2026, the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) welcomed a high-level delegation from City St George’s, University of London, led by the Lady Mayor of the City of London, Dame Susan Langley, along with representatives from the UK Government and leading professional organizations and associations in the United Kingdom. The program featured two key activities: a cooperation meeting in the morning and the Green Finance Micro-credential Certificate Award Ceremony in the afternoon. Taking place as part of UEH’s 50th anniversary celebrations, the program marked a new milestone in the partnership between UEH and City St George’s, while opening up new opportunities to strengthen connections between higher education and the international ecosystems of finance, professional services, and sustainable development.
The visit took place as UEH celebrates its 50th anniversary, with the participation of more than 20 delegates from the UK Government, the City of London, City St George’s, University of London, and leading professional organizations and associations in the United Kingdom.
As part of the working program between UEH and City St George’s, the two sides held a meeting to review the outcomes of their collaboration and discuss directions for further development in the coming period.
Representing UEH were Assoc. Prof. Bui Quang Hung, President of UEH; Assoc. Prof. Nguyen Phong Nguyen, Rector of the UEH College of Business; Assoc. Prof. Pham Duong Phuong Thao, Vice Head of the Department of Research, Development and Global Engagement, together with leaders and representatives from offices, faculties, institutes, and academic program directors of the UEH College of Business and the UEH College of Economics, Law and Government.
Representing City St George’s, University of London were Professor Sionade Robinson, Vice-President (Enterprise, Engagement & Employability), together with representatives responsible for enterprise, engagement and employability, apprenticeships, global engagement, partnerships, and transnational education.

During the session, the two sides reviewed and assessed the implementation outcomes of the pilot Green Finance Micro-credential program, acknowledged the results achieved, and shared experiences from its implementation. Building on these outcomes, the two sides agreed on directions and follow-up activities to further develop the program, while discussing new opportunities for collaboration, including the development of international academic programs, expanded student exchange opportunities, and stronger connections among academic units.

The participation of senior leaders from City St George’s, together with representatives from the UK Government and the British Consulate-General, demonstrated the strong interest and potential for further cooperation between UEH and UK partners in education, training, and human resource development.
In the afternoon, City St George’s and UEH jointly organized the Green Finance Micro-credential Award Ceremony, presenting certificates to participants who successfully completed the pilot training program. Jointly delivered by UEH and City St George’s, the Green Finance Micro-credential program took place from June 1 to 8, 2026, bringing together 20 participants from universities, the State Securities Commission, social enterprises, and non-governmental organizations. Through two intensive training modules, the program focused on practical issues in green finance and sustainable development, including the implementation of the Green Taxonomy, climate and risk assessment in finance and investment, ESG, sustainability reporting, and Emissions Trading Systems (ETS) and Measurement, Reporting and Verification (MRV).
The ceremony was honored by the presence of Ms. Alexandra Smith, British Consul General in Ho Chi Minh City and Director for Trade, representing the British Consulate-General in Ho Chi Minh City and the City of London, along with representatives from leading organizations and institutions within the UK's financial and professional services ecosystem, including the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW), the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII), PwC UK, the UK-ASEAN Business Council (UKABC), Lloyd's of London, and TheCityUK.
In particular, the event welcomed Ms. Dame Susan Langley, Lady Mayor of the City of London for the 2025-2026 term and Head of the City of London Corporation during her term of office, who also serves as an international ambassador for the UK's financial and professional services sector. At the same time, she is also the Rector of City St George’s, University of London.

A New Milestone in the UEH - City St George’s Partnership
From a pilot training program, the partnership between UEH and City St George’s has expanded to involve the direct participation of leaders from the City of London and the UK Government, the partner university, and leading international professional and financial organizations. This reflects an increasingly substantive approach to the internationalization of education - not only creating opportunities for learners to gain global exposure, but also progressively bringing international knowledge, expertise, experience, and networks into teaching and practical engagement at UEH.
The participation of representatives from higher education institutions, diplomatic missions, professional organizations, and the financial and professional services ecosystem also provides a broader foundation for the UEH - City St George’s partnership. Beyond a bilateral university-to-university collaboration, the partnership is gradually connecting education and human resource development with international professional networks and real-world practices.

4th ASEAN+ Summer Camp 2026: A Journey of Learning, Discovery, and Connection for UEH Students in Malaysia
Continuing its efforts to expand learning opportunities and provide students with meaningful international experiences, the College of Business – University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (COB – UEH) continued its participation in the ASEAN+ Summer Camp 2026, the fourth edition of the academic and cultural exchange program for students across the region. Held from July 26 to August 1, 2026, and hosted by Universiti Malaya (University of Malaya), Malaysia, this year’s program was organized under the theme “Empowering ASEAN Youth: Innovation, Sustainability and the Future of Regional Economy,” providing students with opportunities to explore the knowledge, perspectives, and capabilities needed to navigate the rapid changes shaping the region and the world.
UEH Students Experience an International Learning Journey at Taiwan Summer University 2026
As part of its ongoing efforts to expand international learning opportunities and provide students with meaningful global experiences, the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) continues to facilitate students’ participation in academic and cultural exchange programs with international partner universities. From July 27 to August 2, 2026, Vietnamese students, including students from UEH, participated in the Taiwan Summer University Program in Kaohsiung, Taiwan. The program was organized by National Sun Yat-sen University (NSYSU), Taiwan, and Parami University, Myanmar, and hosted by NSYSU.
ICBS 2026 Pre-Conference Workshop: Publishing in Tourism Review and Avoiding Desk Rejections
