With the aim of updating emerging trends and enhancing the quality of scientific research as well as strengthening research capacity among faculty members, doctoral candidates, and postgraduate students, the School of Management – UEH College of Business organized a thematic academic seminar entitled “Guidelines on the Use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Scientific Research” at 10:00 a.m. on January 21, 2026. The seminar was chaired and presented by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Nhat Hanh – Vice Head of the School of Management, and attracted strong interest and active participation from a large number of lecturers, doctoral candidates, and postgraduate students.
During the seminar, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Nhat Hanh delivered a comprehensive, systematic, and up-to-date overview of the application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in modern scientific research. The discussion began with an analysis of prominent trends in the use of AI in academic research, highlighting its increasingly important role in supporting idea generation, data processing, and improving research efficiency. In addition, the application of AI throughout the entire research process was presented in detail, covering stages from research idea development, literature review, research model construction, data analysis, to manuscript preparation and publication in academic journals.

Overview of the seminar
In particular, ethical issues and legal frameworks related to the use of AI in scientific research—viewed from the perspectives of reputable publishers, academic journals, and universities—received significant attention from lecturers and doctoral candidates. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Nhat Hanh emphasized that equipping researchers with the knowledge and skills to use AI responsibly, in alignment with ethical standards and the requirements of prestigious academic journals, plays a crucial role in enhancing transparency, academic integrity, and the competitiveness of research outputs. Accordingly, requirements regarding transparency, academic responsibility, and research integrity in the use of AI were clearly analyzed, helping participants develop a proper understanding and apply AI appropriately in their research activities.
Beyond theoretical discussions, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Nhat Hanh also shared practical experiences from her own application of AI in scientific research. Concrete examples, lessons learned, and practical recommendations provided participants with realistic insights and high applicability, particularly valuable for lecturers, doctoral candidates, and postgraduate students in conducting research and pursuing academic publication.
